My name is Joey, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help. Recently, I was diagnosed with large B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer. Up until now, I worked a full-time job and a side job to support my family, but this diagnosis has forced me to go on short-term disability. The sudden change has been overwhelming, both emotionally and financially, as I adjust to a new reality and focus on my health.
The costs of treatment are significant. I need to travel to the James Cancer Center in Columbus for my treatments, which adds travel expenses on top of mounting medical bills. With my income reduced, it’s become increasingly difficult to keep up with everyday living expenses. My wife is also on disability due to epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, which makes this time even more challenging for us both.
I have never been one to reach out and ask for help, and as much as it pains me to do so, we truly appreciate any support we could get right now. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to us during this very difficult time. Thank you so much for your support, and God bless.
