Hi, my name is Joey Horan. I love and value life so much, but lately it feels like I just can’t catch a break. Last week, my girlfriend and I were coming home from Bluffton on the parkway when a car suddenly turned out in front of us at a green light. I tried my best to veer away and brake, but it wasn’t enough. We were both thrown from the motorcycle and rushed to the hospital.
I suffered a broken collarbone and two spinal fractures, while my girlfriend has a broken ankle and her whole body is badly banged up. She was luckier than me, but we’re both struggling to function and recover. On top of these injuries, we’re unable to work and facing very high medical bills. I’m still paying for an injury from last year that wasn’t my fault, and my recovery will take a few months since my job requires full physical ability.
Right now, any donations will help us with daily necessities since we cannot work, and we would be very grateful for any help towards our medical bills as well. Despite everything, I believe life will always get better. I’ve been through so many tough, life-changing injuries and challenges, but I know you just have to keep fighting. We’re asking for help from our community to get through this difficult time. Any support or kindness means the world to us, and we’re deeply grateful for anything you can do.
I promise to keep everyone updated as much as possible with progress photos, a photo of the crashed bike, and any updates my doctor gives me. Thank you for your support.
