Hello, I am starting this fundraiser for my friend Joey Girardi, who is more like a little brother to me. He is currently going through a lot medically, which is putting a huge financial strain on his family.

Joey has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and was supposed to have his kidney, spleen, and part of his liver removed at the beginning of June, which, due to insurance, was postponed to the beginning of August. Upon attempting to remove his kidney, it was discovered that there was more cancer than expected; he also has cancer in his vena cava.

Joey was the main source of income for his household and has now been in the hospital since the end of July. He has spent the last month in Cleveland Clinic and is currently being brought back to St. E's to go through rehab because his legs have swollen and he has been bedridden, so he has to learn to walk again.

Thankfully, Ashley (his wife) has been able to travel to and from Cleveland to visit him, but the travel and the everyday bills have racked up. Joey is only turning 37 this year with 2 children (Gabby, 12, and Cooper, 2) and has been married to his wife Ashley since 2024.

If you can find it in your heart to help ease the financial stress this is putting on them while Joey is recovering, it would be greatly appreciated. If you know Joey, you know he's been through a lot of things throughout his life and is a fighter but needs a little help with the financial fight.
