UPDATE:

It's been a while since I've updated Joey's status.

With several months of struggles with infections, opening of the incisions not healing and several trips to the Emergency room, and just plain struggling to keep up with bills, constant struggling with rejection from the insurance companies not wanting to pay and just jumping through the hoops of the medical system.

It has been a real nightmare.

Believe me the struggle is real for this young family. Joey's employer let him go on Jan 6 without a reason, but he knows it's because he's sick and to make things worse is he's now in the process of losing there family home. Joey has one more major surgery in March for now not knowing what's in the future for him or his family.

We want to thank everyone for there help but they really are in need of continued help. There is nothing more humbling then asking for help when you have always done things for your yourself.

My name is Patty, the mother of Joey Bader. Joey started his life out with open heart surgery at 6 weeks old, struggling to survive. He has been a fighter and has grown up without any additional health issues until now. He has made it to age 46 and is now fighting for his life again.

Joey was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer which has attached itself to his bladder.

Joey has had an Ileostomy until the doctors can go in to remove the cancer and repair his bladder. He has several rounds of chemotherapy he is doing with hopes that the cancer stops growing. In the meantime, he has built up over $100,000 in medical bills and has not received his chemo bills yet.

Joey has been out of work since April of 2024 and is not expected to go back to work until April of 2025, depending on his next surgery and follow-up chemotherapy sessions.

This has created a financial hardship for his family.

I am asking for help for his monthly expenses, transportation, and growing medical bills. Please help ease the burden while Joey and his family fight this battle he is going through.

No one should have to fight this battle alone.
