Support Joe's Recovery from Heart Attack

Hello,

My name is Betsy Piatnek. My husband, Joe, suffered a heart attack on March 27, 2025. He never complained about any of the ordinary warning signs. His heart suddenly went into Ventricular Tachycardia, a condition where the lower chambers of the heart beat very rapidly. He was getting ready to leave for work and came back into the house to have me "feel his heart racing." Sixty seconds later, he collapsed onto the floor without a pulse. We found out later that Ventricular Tachycardia occurs due to a problem with the heart's electrical impulses. The doctors felt this electrical disruption was caused by a bacteria or infection moving through the bloodstream and into the heart. This is not something we were prepared for, nor anticipated happening.

Two weeks and two procedures later at the hospital, Joe now has a device implanted in his chest with wires running around his heart. He has a monitoring/communicator that reads the implanted device and sends the information to the hospital. He is home, and that is the most wonderful thing in the world!

What we are facing now is the reason I set up this fundraiser. Joe was a truck driver. He was the main breadwinner in our family. We will be looking at tremendous medical bills and we need a way to pay our current bills, utilities, and his health insurance premiums. I have looked into many, many programs to find some financial aid. Joe is 55 and he made just enough money that disqualifies him for government assistance. So now I am asking that if you can help, please do. Every penny is a blessing. We are just looking to get through one day at a time.
