Joe, my spouse, is facing an incredibly tough journey. After being diagnosed with a mass that destroyed his kidney, he underwent surgery to have it removed. Then, in January 2026, Joe received a cancer diagnosis, which has led to multiple major surgeries to remove and repair veins and arteries. Each procedure has meant long hospital stays and countless trips to Rochester for appointments and treatments. The emotional and physical toll has been immense, and the uncertainty of what comes next is overwhelming.

Joe has spent his life helping the community as a volunteer firefighter for over 25 years, and in his younger days, he served as an ambulance member. He is also a devoted father to our two children at home. The damage to his leg from these surgeries may never fully heal, which could prevent him from working again or returning to his role as a firefighter. This has added another layer of worry for our family, as we try to navigate the future together.
