Support Joe's Journey to Mobility and Independence

Hi, I’m Joe. Those of you who know me have watched me experience a number of debilitating diseases and conditions over years. (No need to go through that list!) For those of you who don’t know me, I had a landscaping business in the bay area of California for decades and have a BFA Music degree from the University of Kansas. Because of the weakness in my hands, I can no longer play the violin or piano. However, I can still tend my home garden in spite of my disabilities. Music, gardening, cooking, and friends are my joy.
Recently I was also diagnosed with a progressive neuro-muscular disease called IBM (inclusion body myositis, not the gastro condition or the Selectric typewriter manufacturer for those of you old enough to remember). I have to use a walker and can barely make it up the 12 steps to enter my apartment.
A stairlift would help me navigate my apartment entrance safely and provide me with more independence. It would make a tremendous difference and help me remain in my home. After much research, I found a reliable lift that fits the bill. Unfortunately, it costs $3,900. It isn’t covered by insurance and I don’t have the means to pay for it on my own. So I’m asking for your help.
Your generous contribution would not only help cover the cost of this essential equipment but also bring a significant improvement to my daily life. Every donation, no matter the size, gets me closer to achieving this goal and is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read, contribute, or spread the word. Your help will not only assist me in securing the stairlift, but will also serve as a reminder of the power of community and compassion.
Thank you for your kindness and support!
Joe
