Help a Brave Man Get Off the Streets and Start Fresh : JOE MARTINEZ
During a recent high school protest about ICE, something unexpected happened that showed the power of humanity.
While students were peacefully standing up for what they believe in, tensions grew when someone who disagreed began approaching and intimidating kids. In the middle of all that, one man stepped forward to protect us — not a teacher, not security, not police — but a homeless man who lives nearby.
This man saw students being threatened and chose to stand between them and harm. He helped keep kids safe and tried to calm the situation down when things could have gone very wrong. He did not have to do that — but he did, because he cared.
Afterward, we learned more about him. He is 64 years old and currently living under tunnels without stable housing. Despite everything he has been through, he told us he wants to get off the streets, find work, and turn his life around. He has dreams of stability, safety, and dignity — just like anyone else.
Right now, he has almost nothing. No safe place to sleep. No reliable way to get food. No support system. But what he does have is a kind heart and the courage to stand up for others, even when he had nothing to gain.
That’s why we are starting this GoFundMe.
The money raised will go toward:
• Temporary housing
• Food and basic necessities
• Transportation
• Getting identification and job resources
• Helping him begin a new chapter off the streets
This is not about charity — it’s about giving someone a real chance.
He helped protect our community when we needed it. Now we are coming together to help protect his future.
Every dollar, every share, and every act of support brings him one step closer to a safe and stable life.
Thank you for believing in second chances. We will truly truly appreciate if you help this man he is one of the sweetest, most caring person ever he did what a lot of people couldn’t.
