Hi everyone,

My name is Alyssa, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my little brother, Joe — or “Little Joe,” as so many of us lovingly call him. Recently, our world was turned upside down when Joe was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer. At just 19 years old, he’s facing a battle that no one should have to go through.

Joe is a sophomore at the University of Iowa, full of dreams and determination for his future. He’s always been the light to our lives... the guy who can make anyone laugh, light up a room, and bring people together. He loves all things sports, music, and fitness, and he’s worked so hard to get to where he is today.

This week, Joe begins chemotherapy treatments, every two weeks, for the next several months. Joe has made the incredibly strong decision to go thru his chemo treatments, while still maintaining his college career. While our family is hopeful and confident that he will beat this, the road ahead comes with emotional and financial challenges we never expected to face.

Our Mom and family have been working tirelessly to support him, but the costs are already adding up quickly. From travel and lodging, to missed work and medical expenses that aren’t fully covered by insurance.

We are raising funds to help with:

* Travel expenses for our family to be by Joe’s side during treatments

* Lodging during out-of-town hospital stays

* Medical bills not covered by insurance

* Everyday costs to make this journey a little easier for him
