Our family is facing one of the most difficult moments of our lives.

Hi, my name is Veronica Cruz, the youngest sister of JoseLuis “Big Joe” Martinez. I am organizing this fundraiser for my beloved brother, who has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. Glioblastoma is a fast-growing cancer that affects the brain and can impact memory, speech, movement, and overall daily function. It requires intensive and ongoing treatment.

Joe has already undergone surgery to remove two tumors, but this is only the beginning of a long and challenging journey. He will now need to relocate to Houston, Texas, to receive specialized treatment.

Because of his condition, Joe is unable to work, and his wife, Elisa Martinez, will also be unable to work as she remains by his side to care for him during this time.

Joe is a loving husband, father of six children, grandfather, eldest brother, and uncle. He brings people together with his warmth—he loves to cook out, listen to music, and spend time with his family. He has always been there for others, and now he needs us.
