Hello,

My name is Michele Benavides and I am Joe Benavides' wife of 16 years. On December 26, 2024 Joe had a seizure the morning after Christmas. Joe was unable to speak and was severely impaired. We did what anyone would do and took him to the Emergency Room where a CT scan, MRI and ultimately a brain biopsy were conducted. Much to our shock and dismay, Joe was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer - Astrocytoma Glioblastoma. This rare but aggressive form of cancer affects the cognitive and physical abilities of the brain and body. Joe has worked his entire life and was a Jouneyman plumber about to embark on obtaining his Master Plumber license to start his very own service company. Unfortunately, Joe can no longer work and has undergone six weeks of DAILY radiation and DAILY chemotherapy. The subsequent exams are scheduled and the outcome of the effectiveness of the radiation and chemotherapy treatment will be determined. Until then, we are hopeful and believing for total healing.
