Joe Lombardi was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. AML causes the bone marrow to produce abnormal white blood cells that crowd out healthy ones, making it difficult for the body to fight infections, carry oxygen, and stop bleeding.
Just days before his diagnosis, Joe proudly walked his daughter down the aisle. He is now undergoing intensive treatment at Dana-Farber in Boston and will be needing a stem cell transplant, which is a critical part of his fight against AML.
Anyone who knows Maria (Ria) and Joe Lombardi know how hardworking, selfless, and loving they are. Both small business owners, this unexpected journey has put an enormous strain on their lives. With Maria traveling back and forth to Boston and their shops unable to stay fully open, the financial stress only adds to the challenge.
Let’s come together to support this incredible family—help ease the burden of medical expenses, and stand by Joe as he fights to beat AML.
