Joel Mami is currently on life support and his family has made the gut wrenching yet courageous and selfless decision to release him tomorrow, on his 50th birthday. Joel has been a devoted father of three—Joel Jr. (25), Tayah (22), and Aria (5). After losing his wife several years ago, Joel continued to put his children first, facing each day with resilience and love. He’s battled a long-term illness with courage, but sadly, his battle is coming to an end. Joel is leaving his children to navigate another heartbreaking loss.

Joel was known for his charisma and ability to make friends wherever he went. He brought laughter and light to those around him, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Now, his children will be left coping with the unimaginable—having lost both parents at such young ages. While they are supporting each other, the weight of grief and responsibility is heavy, especially as they work to honor their parents’ memory.

This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of cremation, bringing Joel and his late wife Jamie together in burial, and addressing any outstanding medical expenses. Joel’s children are handling all the final arrangements, but they do not have the financial stability to manage these costs alone.
