In 2011, our lives were turned upside down when my Dad was in a nearly fatal car accident. We are so blessed and beyond grateful to have him here with us today. However, this accident has been life altering for my Dad.
For years, my Dad has endured pain from injuries he sustained during the accident. This year, his health has seriously declined as a result.
In August of 2024, my Dad had to undergo a full hip replacement. The surgery seemed successful, but his relief was short-lived. About a month later, he had to have an emergency discectomy surgery. This surgery was intended to alleviate nerve issues preventing him from normal everyday functioning.
Unfortunately, more spinal and nerve complications have come to light. My dad has to have a third surgery this month to repair more discs that are causing problems.
At this time, my Dad is unable to walk without assistance. While doctors are hopeful to stop the progression of the disease, they are unsure about whether they will ever be able to restore the function in his left foot - which is currently reduced by 80%.
This has been a frustrating year for my parents both emotionally and financially. My Dad is someone who refuses to take time off, and his current inability to work has been especially difficult for him.
We are strong in our faith and will get through this. Thank you for your support and please pray for healing.
