Hi, today I am asking for your help for Joe Rouse. Joe is an avid skydiver, base jumper, as well as an instructor for skydiving. He has been jumping since 2013 and has continued to learn, grow, and assist others in their skydiving journeys. Joe was injured while in Croatia on his dream trip. He has a triple break in his calcaneus (heel bone). This type of break requires immediate surgery and extensive recovery.
Due to his being in Croatia, we have had an incredibly difficult time getting him home and to the proper doctors to perform the necessary surgery. He is finally able to come home tomorrow and will be going directly to the ER. Joe was doing what he loves in Croatia, base jumping. Joe has been a pillar in the skydiving and base jumping community. This trip was a decade in the making only to be cut short on day 3.
Joe faces a number of obstacles once home as he will be unable to put any weight on his foot for a minimum of 3 months, possibly 6 months. The financial hardship is one no one is prepared for. Let alone the mental and physical toll on him. I am asking for those of you that can to please donate. 7,000 is our minimum goal based on what we know today. God knows how much more it could cost to get Joe back to a full recovery and back to what he loves and the people that have come to rely on him. If you can't donate, I ask that you please share this as much as possible. I will be updating tomorrow night once I am able to get him to the ER and with the proper surgeons to get an exact plan together for him.
