Support Martin "Joe" Miller's Battle with Cancer

Donation protected
Greetings
My name is Amy Rose. I am asking for help for my brother, Joe Miller. Joe is 57 years old and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease more than 10 years ago. That has already been challenging enough, and now he has also been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. It has spread rapidly, and his prognosis is not good. He has been told that he might survive 12 to 18 months with treatment. The cancer is inoperable. Joe has just begun radiation and chemotherapy. The cancer has already become so painful he is barely able to eat. He has drastically lost weight in just a few months and is getting weaker daily.

He is blessed with an amazing wife, Kasey, three children, and five grandchildren. Kasey is doing a fantastic job of caring for Joe and is still working full-time as a school nurse. She has the weight of the world on her shoulders, juggling numerous medical appointments and managing all of the insurance hurdles, plus trying to pay all the bills.

Joe had to sell the beautiful home he built a few years ago because it became too much to maintain physically with the Parkinson's disease. They downsized to a much smaller home in the country with horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. It is a wonderland for the grandchildren. Sadly, now this home also is too much for Joe to care for. He had to stop working more than a year ago due to his illness. They have been fighting for disability because Joe cannot physically work anymore and are being denied because of Kasey's income. They are struggling to meet expenses. Joe worked hard all his life running his own business. He had to give up his life insurance because they could no longer afford the premiums. The financial strain is a huge stressor for Joe because he has always taken excellent care of his family. Joe is a good man with a kind heart, a loving husband, and the best Grandpa in the world!

I am heartbroken to say we might not have him much longer. The only hope we have is to ask others to help with the financial burden. We would love to get his truck running again, and maybe even realize a dream of his to see Montana before it is too late. Most of all, Joe might have some peace of mind if he knew his family might struggle less with life's necessities with a little help from others.

Any donations, no matter how small, would help Joe rest easier. We greatly appreciate any support, not just monetary. God bless you and all of the other families battling catastrophic illnesses.
