Support Joe and his Family Through This Battle

In Joe's own words when this all came to light just a few short weeks ago:

"Good morning everyone. As most of you are aware, I’ve been struck with an unfortunate set of circumstances. I have at least one tumor causing a blockage on my liver. Currently inoperative, but there is hope after they shrink it. I am a private person and did not allow my family to share until my diagnosis was confirmed. That happened on Monday evening and I was scheduled for Chemotherapy on Tuesday morning. All went well and we’re waiting on the second treatment. After chemotherapy, I felt pretty good. Yesterday I woke up and still feel fine. I’m sorry I left so many of you waiting for answers but I had nothing to share other than waiting on diagnosis. My family has been strong and some are struggling with my decision to remain private. That’s me. If you know me, you know how I can be. That's it in a nutshell. Please support my wife and my children, they have been absolute rocks through this so far. Tracey has been by my side daily and this is taking a toll on her and for that, I am so sorry. I love you so much, Tracey. Thank you to those who care. It means so much to me. I’ve tried for three days to compose this in a smart, intelligent way. More will follow. That’s all I have for now. I love each and every one of you."

Joe's brother Bill provided this update today: "This is extremely difficult to write but we all Love Joe so here goes: Joe will be coming home in the next 24 -48 hrs on Hospice. As hard as he and his family have fought, the results are not as positive as they hoped. Joe's wishes were to be in his home with his family and they are making that happen. Let's all pray for him and hope a miracle happens."

So many people have asked what they can do. Here is what you can do, pray, reach out via text to Tracey and her family, send cards and donate to JOE's GO FUND ME page. Tracey has been on leave from work for four weeks and will likely be out for quite some time. Joe has also been out of work for four weeks. Medical bills and the expenses that families with a cancer patient face include special equipment, prescriptions and any additional in-home assistance needed, on top of regular bills. This will put more stress and strain on the Gately family that they don't need.

Again in Joe's own words:
"Please support my wife and my children, they have been absolute rocks through this so far. Tracey has been by my side daily and this is taking a toll on her and for that, I am so sorry. I love you so much, Tracey."
