Support Joe and Alaina After Their House Fire
Donation protected
UPDATE:
Thank you to all who have donated and shared so far! Joe has completed skin graft surgeries on his arms and back, is recovering nicely, and is in good spirits. He should be out of the hospital in about a week and will have spent about a month in the Loyola ICU. He has a lot on his plate coming up once he is out of the hospital, so please share or donate and continue to help us support Joe!
Hello all,
Our dear friend Joe Bridges is currently in the Loyola Hospital ICU Burn Unit stable and recovering after his house caught fire and burned down on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. He went into the fire to save his dog and try to contain the fire, but to no avail. He and his 11 year old daughter lost their poor dog Dilly, along with all of their belongings - even Joe’s phone, wallet, and work van were all lost in this tragedy. Joe is undergoing skin grafting surgery to repair over 20% of his body where he suffered second degree burns. He will be in the hospital and recovering for likely 20 days. His daughter was with her mother and not at the house when it caught fire, but did lose all of her belongings and her beloved pup.
We are hopeful that insurance will help Joe and Alaina replace their belongings and hopefully rebuild their home, but we are also aware that this may take a very long time to work through the process. Joe is not the type of person to ask for help, but he truly will need his village to support him as he works to rebuild his life. Please help us support this hard-working father and his daughter in this incredibly difficult time.
