Hello! We are here to humbly ask for your help and support for our mother, Jody Lamon.
Jody is a wonderful and loving wife to Charlie Lamon, to whom she married just this year on the 20th of April.
She's the mother of five children; Corey, Jake, Bea, Mariah and Tyler, she is also an incredible and attentive "Gammy"/Grandma to two beautiful girls, Eliana and Amora.
Our mother is like most mothers... she is loving, she is kind, she is considerate, hardworking, and resilient!
She spent most of her life working 2-3 jobs at a time while also balancing college classes/courses, all just to ensure that her children had what we needed.
She has always pushed herself to try to do and be the best she could be, for us, even through the worst possible circumstances and situations.
No matter how hard things got, she still tried her best to show up for her children and the people she loves.
Our mom was the "neighborhood mom", she would and did care for, protect, help, feed and even clothe any child or person that needed it.
If she could, she would. If she couldn't? She'd find a way to help, even if that meant pointing people in the right direction to those that could help in the ways she couldn't.
Through all of this, she has spent 90% of her life struggling and suffering in silence for the most part, from severe health issues.
The first beginning at the age of 4, her kidney would fail due to its size and that would lead to decades of hospital visits/stays due to pain, kidney infections, and surgeries.
Although we were unfortunately used to seeing our mother in a hospital gown, nothing could have prepared us for the devastating news we received in 2019. Our mother had been diagnosed with bladder cancer and would need to start aggressive chemotherapy treatments that would go on for an entire year, which she thankfully survived, before finally stopping the treatment. Mom went into surgery in 2020, leaving her with a lifelong colostomy bag.
As I've previously mentioned, our mother is resilient. She has had to spend her entire life being the "strong one", she was never given the grace and security to be vulnerable, to safely trust and lean on someone (aside from her children). Until mom began building a relationship and a beautiful, blended family with Charlie!
Our momma was finally free, finally able to truly LIVE, love and genuinely enjoy her life! Our momma was finally happy and healing after years of stress, trauma, struggling, overworking and countless hospital visits/stays.
Until, now..
Our mother was diagnosed with brain cancer on July 11th, 2024.
After taking a trip to the ER after work when she started experiencing unusual symptoms from what was initially thought to be just a 'pressure headache', one that started about 4 days prior.
After running multiple tests, they immediately found the cancerous tumor on her brain.
We're anxiously awaiting the date of her surgery to hopefully and successfully remove it, which will take place on the 15th of July.
Then, we wait for two weeks to find out if this brain cancer will always continue to grow back, or not...
During this time, we ask for as much love, help and support as possible! We're not ready to lose our momma, we also don't want to watch her struggle to recover and heal due to the overwhelming stress of whether or not she'll even be able to afford to recover and heal.. Our momma has gone through so much hurt, suffering and medical trauma... We don't want her to go through any more pain and suffering, especially not from stressing over whether or not she'll even get to recover from lifesaving surgery!
Our momma doesn't deserve to suffer, we don't deserve to have her taken from us so soon..
No one should have to know this pain, let alone be so familiar with it!
We hope you'll help us support our mother and her husband during this time! We're thankful and beyond grateful to all of you that are/have/will show up to support her! Help us relieve her of the extra stress, fear and worries! Let's support her so she can finally heal and recover safely and peacefully!
Help us give our mother back the life she's worked so hard for, and truly deserves!
Please... fight this battle with us! "It takes a village!"
Thank you now, and in advance!
Signed,
Jody's wildly passionate + loving children! <3
