Jody Burgin VYVE Employee Road to Recovery

Dear Friends, Family, and VYVE Community,

On November 1st, 2024, a devastating accident turned my friend Jody’s world upside down. She and her husband David were exposed to carbon monoxide poisoning in their home—a silent killer that nearly took their lives.

David was in critical condition. He had to be airlifted to Memorial Hermann and placed in a hyperbaric chamber just to stay alive. He remained hospitalized for multiple weeks. Jody was also admitted and thankfully recovered enough to return home. Today, while she’s back at work doing her best to provide for her family, David is still facing a long and painful journey—he’s currently learning how to walk again.

Their fight isn’t over. David’s physical therapy, a vital part of his recovery, has been cut off by insurance after just 20 sessions—their policy limit. They are now living solely on Jody’s paycheck and what remains of their savings, all while trying to support their two young teen boys.

Jody has been a beloved part of our Vyve family for a year now. Within that time, she was named Vyver of the Week—just a glimpse into her dedication, resilience, and heart. As her coworker, and now a lifelong best friend, I’m asking for your help. This incredible woman and her family need us more than ever.
