My name is Jodi, and I'm reaching out because I need a hip replacement. The doctors have told me it's bone on bone, and the pain has become too much to manage with alternatives. I'll be off work for 6-8 weeks after surgery, and unfortunately, my job doesn't offer any benefits or income during that time. I haven't set a surgery date yet because I'm waiting to see my doctor at the end of January to learn more about my circumstances. I've always been someone who works hard and takes care of others, so asking for help is not easy for me.
This past year has been especially difficult. I lost my mom a year ago, and I was her caregiver until she passed. That was my source of income, and when she was gone, my pay stopped. I'm an only child, with no children or husband to lean on. About two months after losing my mom, I found out I had rheumatoid arthritis and needed a hip replacement. The doctors said I may not have noticed the symptoms because I was so focused on caring for my mom. I'm grateful I was able to be there for her, but now I'm facing this challenge on my own.
The funds I raise will go directly toward my living expenses while I recover from surgery. Any support—big or small—will make a difference and help me get through this difficult time. I would be incredibly grateful for your help, whether it's a donation or simply sharing my story. Thank you for taking the time to read and support me.
