Jodie is a caring, kind woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She means a great deal to me and many family members. She loves our furbaby Sophie, who we treat like she's our kid. Jodie has struggled with asthma and allergies, which resulted in excess fluid building up around her heart. Last year, she stayed in the hospital for four days and then spent a month on oxygen. She's been on a number of medications, and eventually, the fluid dissipated. Unfortunately, it recently came back.


On February 26th, Jodie underwent surgery. The doctors opened a small hole in the sack around her heart to drain the fluid, leaving a chest tube in while she recovers. During the procedure, they also discovered she has pulmonary hypertension, which is causing high pressure to build in her heart. Her recovery has been difficult, but she is getting better each day.


The funds from this fundraiser will help us cover medical costs, recovery expenses, and bills, as both of us have had to take leave from work. I want Jodie to receive the best care possible, but also not have her worried about bills piling up along the way. Any donation you can give would be a great help to us.
