Support Jodi and Joe: Jonathan's Medical Journey
Donation protected
We are starting this fundraiser to help Jodi and Joe offset the expenses they are facing with Jonathan's ongoing medical care. Jonathan was born on October 29th with tracheoesophageal fistula and esophageal atresia (his stomach had an abnormal connection to his lungs and his mouth was not connected to his stomach at all). He had surgery to fix this on Friday November 1st. That surgery was a success and a dye study confirmed it healed properly. Jonathan began to have episodes of not breathing while on the ventilator. He had a bronchoscopy on Friday November 15th that confirmed the diagnosis of severe tracheobronchomalacia (the windpipe is extremely floppy and closes off while he is trying to breathe). On Monday November 18th Jonathan had a tracheostomy placed (a tube in his neck to help him breathe). This will remain in place for about 3 years and Jonathan will be on the ventilator at home during this time. Jodi and Joe were also told that Jonathan could be in Children's hospital for up to a year. They live about an hour away from Children's hospital. Any money raised will go directly to Jodi and Joe to help with gas, food, parking and other expenses related to Jonathan's medical care. Thank you very much and as always, prayers are treasured for this family.
