Yesterday, our dear friend and colleague Jodi experienced a devastating and unimaginable loss.

Jodi has already been carrying an incredible amount of weight in her life. For some time now, she has been the primary caregiver for her husband, Hal, who is living with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Despite the daily challenges that come with caregiving, Jodi continues to show up for others with kindness, strength, and compassion.

Yesterday, while Jodi was delayed on her way home due to a separate house fire in Randolph, a tragic accident occurred at her apartment. During that time, Hal accidentally turned on the stove in the kitchen, which started a fire. Neighbors acted quickly and were able to get Hal and Jodi’s dog out of the apartment, but the fire spread rapidly.

The apartment and everything inside was a total loss.

Tragically, Jodi’s beloved dog later passed away after being taken to a neighbor’s apartment.

In a matter of moments, Jodi and Hal lost their home, their belongings, and a cherished member of their family.

Jodi is someone who has always been there for others—both in her work and in her personal life. Now she needs our support. Donations will help Jodi and Hal begin to rebuild after this unimaginable loss, helping cover immediate needs such as clothing, temporary housing, replacing essential belongings, and supporting them as they navigate the difficult days ahead.
