Jocy Ballesteros-Trevino has been unable to use her full vision for the better part of a decade. Being diagnosed with uveitis as a teenager, Jocy's right eye has experienced episodes of severe inflammation that have reduced her capability to properly see. After visiting multiple eye specialists and rheumatologists, Jocy has successfully been able to decrease her episodes of inflammation affecting her right eye. However, the years of uveitis have left Jocy with a developed, severe cataract that requires surgery if she is to see. A Texas A&M alumnus turned full-time dual language high school math teacher, Jocy needs her vision no matter what, but paying for the entire operation proves difficult. With your help, Jocy will be able to experience the gift of sight, as she will live with a new replacement lens for the rest of her life.
