Hello! My name is Jocelyn Hittle and I am a fourth-year BA Theatre and Religious Studies Double Major at Marywood University. I have spent my undergraduate education learning about the practice, theory, and experience of Theatre and religion. I am so deeply grateful for my experiences at Marywood and aim to become a college program director for Theatre Arts in the future.
To do so, I need to attain my Masters and PhD. I am currently applying to graduate programs across the East Coast with the intention to investigate how secular theatre makers use religious narratives to tell their stories, and what that means for the general public’s interaction with Jesus Christ.
I am raising funds for the application fees for these programs. When applying to graduate programs, the philosophy is that “better is more” because you only have to be accepted into one. I have a 4.0 GPA and care deeply about being educated. Each application fee is around $100, and I am applying to about 11 programs. While fee waivers are possible for some, FAFSA indicates that my parents make too much money to be considered, even though they are responsible for our life at home and raising my little brother.
If you are willing and able, I would be eternally grateful for any amount of support towards offsetting the cost of my application fees. God bless!
