Support JoAnn's Family After Ceiling Collapse

Story

Hi, I’m JoAnn and this is my living room currently! It collapsed on Tuesday at 5am. I have been asking my rental company since April to fix a bow in the ceiling. We had flooding in April and our back room had 6 inches of water standing in it. We ripped out the carpet when no one came to do anything about it. Since then, that room is just concrete, with cracks in it, so it floods every time there is rain. The roof had a leak which was causing the bowing in the living room ceiling. The rental company had a couple of people come out to give them estimates but still never fixed it. At the beginning of June, they had a company come out and replace the roof. That just created more problems! The very next day, the hall flooded because the roofers broke the pipe to the AC condensation. The pipe was fixed but not the flooring. We had more rain! Another part of the ceiling started bowing! Again, I reached out to the rental company and they said someone would come out and give them an estimate. That company had the work order since last Wednesday. I finally called them on Monday because the new bow was actually splitting and about to fall. They said they would be out the next day. Tuesday at 5am, I was woken up by a loud noise. I went out to my living room and discovered that 3/4 of the ceiling had fallen on all my furniture! I left a message with the rental company. The manager called me around 8am and said they would send someone out to look at it. That someone already had an appointment with me from the prior day. I waited for them to come (mask on, of course) and they said the house is not livable! The rental company refuses to pay for a hotel and said my insurance would cover all my possessions and hotel, and it was not the homeowner’s insurance responsibility. I called to put in a claim. Today is Friday and I got a call from my agent telling me that my renter's insurance will not cover it because of the type of collapse (landlord negligence). I’ve called attorney after attorney and no one will represent the tenant! I tried Lawton and OKC! Now I’m reaching out to find some help. We need to move, we need a place to move to, this was all unexpected and actually very wrong! It should have never happened. I have never missed a rent payment, always let them know when anything goes wrong or needs their attention. They even tell me on inspection that they appreciate that I take such good care of the place! Please, someone help! Me and my kids are homeless now and the rental company is doing as little as possible to help.
