My name is Jamie Matanane, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my sister, Joanne Matanane Sosa, a beloved member of our community who is in urgent need of medical assistance.

Recently, Joanne was admitted to the hospital due to an infection. During her treatment, doctors discovered a mass in her uterus. Unfortunately, there is no gynecologic oncologist on Guam, and Joanne now needs to travel off-island to the Philippines to see a specialist.

We are facing many unknowns at this time, including the extent of the mass and the treatment required. Joanne may need to stay in the Philippines for an extended period to receive the care she needs. This situation has put a significant financial strain on Joanne and her family, covering medical expenses, travel costs, and potentially long-term accommodations. Adding to this challenge, Joanne's medical insurance ends on May 23rd and will not be covered over the summer. This means all medical expenses will need to be self-paid, significantly increasing the financial burden on Joanne and her family.
