Support Joanne McIntyre's Battle with Leukemia

Joanne McIntyre, the loving wife of Mark (Zeke) McIntyre has been given more blows in life than most of us see in a lifetime.

In early 2000, Joanne thought her life was over because her doctor told her to "go home and get your personal affairs in order" You Have Cancer! Joanne had a harsh response saying hell no. After several long rounds of radiation and chemotherapy, Joanne survived and has lived a beautiful life in Florida with Mark for the past several years.

However, in late July a new nightmare emerged for this wonderful couple. LEUKEMIA!! Specifically, Acute Myeloid Leukemia is a very rare cancer that has a low survival rate. But once again Joanne is going through chemotherapy treatments with hopes of a remission so a stem cell replacement surgery can take place.

This devastation is a lot for any family to deal with, but three times!

Family and friends of the couple have been a huge support to them during this time, but what you don't see or hear about is what's happening to them behind the scenes during this difficult time.

Joanne can no longer work, has gone through all her vacation/sick leave, and received her last paycheck on August 9th. Joanne has her medical insurance through her employer and now has to pay for it herself.

Several medical expenses are happening, and the insurance company will not cover several of her needed medications. Plus, the daily task of going to chemotherapy, doctor appointments, and lab work has made Mark the full-time caretaker since Joanne can no longer drive.
