Hi! My name is Joanna. I’m 45 and I live in a trailer in Florida. I inherited my trailer from my grandparents. I left my life and took care of them for 2 years until they passed on.

That was 2022 and getting my life back to where I was financially has been a struggle. I have had a 

WFH job for 4 years, but due to corporate shuffling and acquisitions I have not been able to move forward in that time.

I am creating this fundraiser for myself because in September of ‘25 I started to become sick. I was diagnosed with COPD in 2016 and it has been a nonstop struggle. Something began exacerbating this and for the first time I had to start using my oxygen tank.

Eventually I started to suspect something in my house was making me sick. I had the plumber come and they said it was my drainage system (Pics included). They charged me 8k to replace it. I went on a work trip and I felt healthy and amazing. When I came back I became sick again and I had to go to the hospital. I spent the week of Christmas and New Years alone in bed, sick.

A neighbor suggested they smelled something in the A/C vent, so I called them. They charged me 2k to do a cleaning (see pics for invoice) and recommended I ionize for another 1k. I started to feel better a few days later. But the damage has been done.

Between the debt I incurred when I was taking care of my grandparents, plus my student loans, plus the hospital bills, plus the drainage system, plus the A/C- I am past my breaking point.

Additionally I need mold removal from the drainage issue for which I was quoted 4K. I was told this needs to be handled before it gets warm again. 

I am also dealing with a very real possible impending lay off from my job within the next 2 weeks. (Will update as I learn more)

I have not received the medical bills yet from the multiple appointments and hospital visits, but I can imagine what I am facing. I admit I already have a fair amount of medical debt as with COPD I can usually expect at least one hospitalization a year.

I am getting behind. I have 3 cats that desperately need to get to the vet. The vet estimates the bill would be over 2k for all the stuff they need. I cannot surrender my fur babies because of this. I wouldn’t even consider it. I did make the calls just to inquire and no one safe has space.

I need help. Please. And it is very hard for me to ask. I’m too ashamed to even share this with people I know. I am hoping there are some kind souls out there who are looking for a good deed. I can be that good deed!
