Help Joanie Fight Breast Cancer
In April 2025, my mom, Joanie, was diagnosed with stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer.
She has completed three months (11 rounds) of chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions, followed by a lumpectomy and removal of 16 axillary lymph nodes on September 2nd, three of which tested positive for cancer.
On September 28th, Joanie was hospitalized for eight days after a severe reaction to her immunotherapy (Keytruda). The reaction affected her cortisol levels and caused neurological complications, leaving her immobilized and hallucinating as her body began to shut down. She is now permanently on steroids and requires regular endocrine visits and bloodwork to monitor her levels.
She has recently begun six weeks of radiation treatments, five days a week, and her next steps for treatment will be determined after radiation is complete.
This unexpected setback has taken a serious physical, emotional, and financial toll. With ongoing medical care and recovery expenses, the costs continue to add up. Our family is doing what we can to support her, but we’re asking for help to ease the financial burden so she can focus on her health and recovery.
Any amount helps and is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
