Support Joan in Overcoming Sudden Loss

I’m Stephanie and have been friends with the Simpson family for about 20 years. Joan and Dan would have been married for 50 years come December, however, the family lost Dan unexpectedly on June 22nd. They had just gotten back from a bucket list trip; a cruise to Alaska to celebrate their upcoming anniversary.

Joan is a housewife, and losing Dan unexpectedly has put her in a financial bind. Florida Vital Records was hacked on June 28th, making an emotionally hard time even more difficult. At this time, Joan cannot get a death certificate to file paperwork to receive her spousal benefits. It could be up to 60 days before she can get a death certificate to start the process of getting spousal benefits.
