Hello,
I’m Josephine “Jo” Asumang, and I’m raising funds to travel to Accra, Ghana, this November with Roots Rugby ! I have been invited by Roots Rugby league to help represent the USA in two historic matches against the Ghana and Nigeria National Teams — and I’m beyond excited.
This trip means so much to me — I get to play in my parents’ home country, in front of some of my family, and help grow the sport of rugby worldwide. It is truly a dream come true!
I started playing rugby as a sophomore at James Madison University, and it quickly became one of the biggest parts of my life. Since then, I’ve played across the U.S. and even in Grenada, learning from amazing coaches and teammates along the way.
As much as I love this sport, it is one of my biggest expenses. Rugby players often pay for everything out of pocket — flights, gear, club, tournament, and player fees are self-funded. That’s why I’m asking for a little help to make this opportunity possible.
All funds raised will go straight toward my travel and tournament costs — and will help me represent my Ghanaian American roots with pride.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others — every bit of support makes a difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for being part of this journey with me.
With love and gratitude,
Jo
Medaase (thank you)!
