Jo Ann is one of the most selfless people I know. She has always put her clients and our family ahead of herself, making sure that everyone is okay. For the first time in her life, she has had a life-threatening condition and discovered that she has a rare blood disease. She had been ill with Covid for two weeks and unfortunately we found her in her room on a Friday with internal bleeding. We rushed her to the hospital where she required four transfusions within a few days. Eventually, doctors were able to fix her esophagus but also discovered she has this rare disease that affects only 1 in 30,000 people.

My mom never asks for help, nor does Ronnie, her husband. For the first time, we are asking friends and family to help support Jo Ann with her medical expenses because we know they will be high. In addition, she will not be able to work in the short term as she visits with doctors to understand how to manage this new condition. The funds raised will go toward hospital bills and lost income as Jo Ann recovers and attends appointments to manage her new condition. Ronnie will also need to spend time with Jo Ann once she is discharged from the hospital and take her to many future appointments.
