Support JJ's in Her Battle Against Colon Cancer
Donation protected
Our sister, JJ (Hamilton) Vercellono, has courageously begun a battle with stage 3 colon cancer. If you know her, you know she is a fighter and full of faith. If you know her, you know she loves well...her community, church, and family. Right now she especially loves being "Lolly" to her first granddaughter and anticipating the arrival of 2 more grandbabies. The third should be born around the time JJ will complete the next round of chemo.
JJ was given a stage 3 rectal cancer diagnosis at the end of March after a routine colonoscopy. Stage 3 means that the tumor has grown through the wall and has affected surrounding lymph nodes.
The first round of treatment began April 17 and ended May 24. Which consisted of 28 rounds of radiation and daily oral chemotherapy.
The next round of treatment begins June 17 and runs through October. This treatment will include surgery to place a port for chemotherapy infusions which will take place on June 12. This cycle of chemotherapy will involve a 4 hour infusion at the hospital and a chemo pump she will wear for 2 days and then must go back for the pump removal. This will be 8 cycles taking place every 2 weeks. All of the treatment has and will continue to take place about 45 minutes away from where they live in Concord, NH.
Following this cycle, she will have all the scans taken again to see what effect the treatment has had on the tumor and to determine if surgery will be necessary.
While insurance will cover some of the treatment, there is a signficant co-pay and additional expenses and medical bills.
Cards and note of encouragement would be very meaningful to her. Should you desire to come alongside of Tim and JJ in a practical way, your donation will go to relieving some of the financial pressure that is a part of her stand against cancer.
We believe in a great God, a miracle working God! Our family has a testimony of miracles, and our faith is high for her health and healing. We welcome you to join us in prayer for her wholeness, and should you like to help in practical way, it would be a grace to them.
