Hello, I am posting this on behalf of my son Jeremiah “JJ” Dickerson. He is a phenomenal kid and athlete, an honor roll student, and the sweetest person you would ever meet. He was born with a heart defect and is on the autism spectrum, but he never lets anything get in his way.
This is his freshman year of high school, and he wants to continue his career in track and field. He runs the 100/200m dash outdoors and the 60/200m dash indoors. Seventh grade was his first year running track, and he beat the middle school record for the 200m dash. Then, in eighth grade, he beat his own record and placed third in the state for the 200m dash. His goal this year is to go to nationals for both indoor and outdoor.
However, his high school doesn’t have an indoor track team, so he goes unattached, and we pay out of pocket for each meet. With this and the expense of registration and travel to nationals for Adidas and New Balance, I realize it’s overwhelming. I’m a single mother of three kids, and I work hard to give all my kids as many opportunities as possible. Although abundantly hard, I am asking for assistance in helping my son achieve this goal. Thank you for taking the time to read about my son, and if nothing else, please share.
