Dear friends,
Thank you for your kind attention and ongoing support of our community. We would like to express our gratitude for taking the time to read about our campaign. RARICANow is a non-profit organization based in Canada, and we are reaching out to you today to request your support for JJ.
JJ, a Black transgender female residing in Edmonton, AB, is scheduled to undergo three surgeries in April as a part of her gender-affirming process. However, funding for the surgeries is a significant challenge. JJ is reaching out to the community to humbly ask for support in funding her upcoming surgeries. Despite the many obstacles she has faced, JJ remains determined to become her true self and is grateful for any assistance that can help her achieve that goal.
Since the beginning of her transition on January 21, 2021, she struggled every day with the feeling of not belonging in her own body. It's mentally and emotionally exhausting, and at times, it feels like an insurmountable obstacle. She has witnessed firsthand the injustice and inequality that the trans community faces. RARICANow on behalf of JJ is calling out to you for your support.
JJ has genuinely been trying to make it but it doesn't seem that she can without your help. JJ works night and day at Alberta Health Services and the City of Edmonton, through this she has managed to save $ 8000 needed to cover some expenses for her upcoming surgeries. She still needs to raise $15,000 with only a month left before her first surgery. That is why we are asking for your generous support. The cost of ($23000) is so overwhelming and time is not on her side.
This is where our community comes in to show JJ she is not alone. We ask for your generous donations to help JJ achieve her dream of living her life authentically as a proud trans woman and becoming the person she has always wanted to be. With your donations, JJ will be able to cover the cost of facial reconstruction, body contouring procedures and Adam's apple surgery which is scheduled for April 2023 in Thailand and South Korea, followed by body contouring in May. Medical transitioning is incredibly expensive especially when it comes to black people who are disproportionately represented in the healthcare system and have limited access to resources.
We understand that times are tough for everyone, but we hope you can contribute the little you have. ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much’’ …..Helen Keller. Your contribution will make a difference not only in JJ’s life but in the life of many more in our community.
From RARICANow under the black trans emergency fund, we will donate $1000 to the cause and we hope that you can see us through.
From our community to you, we want to thank you for your kindness and generosity. We are humbled and appreciate your support. Let us rock it !!!!!!!
