**UPDATE FROM JJ’s BONUS DAD ON AUGUST 6**

“We definitely desire the prayers of God’s people tonight. The doctor called Marla earlier tonight and said they had the results from the MRI earlier today, they found anther small tumor on the back of his brain. The doctor said that he will get them both out but it depends on how everything goes and how JJ is doing Monday when he gets in surgery if he can get them both out then or he may have to do one then go back in and get the other one a few days later but he said either way he could get them both out which is a blessing that he said he thinks they are both at a place where he should be able to get them Both out and when they got them out they would send them off for a biopsy to see if they are cancerous or not. We ask, if you are a child of God and you still believe in the power of prayer, please pray for our son that God will watch over him and perform a miracle that only God can perform! We’ve seen the power in prayer time and time again and I know He’s a God that never fails and an unchanging God, that’s the God we serve!! Thank you all so much for praying for our son and our family. We love you all so much!!”

This fundraiser is in support of JJ Carson and The Wilcox Family; Brandon, Marla, JJ, Anna, Isaac, and Ezra. This week Brandon was injured resulting in a broken foot and time out of work. Days later the family received the devastating news that JJ, Marla’s oldest child, has a mass on his spine. JJ has been experiencing pain and other symptoms in his legs for a year. These symptoms were diagnosed as growing pains that every typical 17 year old boy goes through. As time passed, these symptoms didn’t go away and instead began to worsen, eventually leading to some numbness in his leg(s) which concerned the doctor. His doctor ordered an MRI to check for any abnormalities or injuries as JJ is an athlete. The MRI revealed that JJ has a mass on his L1 Lumbar Spine about the size of a large grape. This mass is compressing his spinal cord, causing the pain and numbness that he has been experiencing for a year now. The doctors urgently worked to get JJ in to a surgeon immediately and within 2 days he was sitting in the surgeons office scheduling the surgery which will take place on Monday, August 8th with a recovery time of 8+ weeks.

My heart is burdened for my family and their needs and I felt led to start this fundraiser to help alleviate some of the burden off of them. Both Marla and Brandon are out of work at this time to help care for JJ during the recovery process as well as Brandon recovering at home from his broken foot. All donation money will go straight to Brandon and Marla to help with medical and household expenses, gas to travel back and forth for JJ’s doctors appointments/hospital visits, bills, etc. If you feel led to help this family, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they would be so appreciative. They DID NOT ask for this fundraiser to be started and they are trusting God to take care of them, but I believe as brothers and sisters in Christ, it’s a beautiful thing for us to come together and help each other when there’s a need.
