Together for Taeya: JJ’s Call for Help

Hi Everyone,

Some of you know me well, and others I’ve had the privilege of meeting over the past 13 years here in SoCal. Today, I’m humbly reaching out to all of you during one of the most challenging moments of my life.

My dog, Taeya, turns 7 tomorrow—April 16, 2025. She’s not just my pet. She’s my family, my emotional and medical support, and the heartbeat of my every day.

For the past five months, I’ve watched her health decline. What I first thought were allergies turned into something far more serious—constant itching, hair loss, and open wounds. I tried everything I could on my own—changing her diet, avoiding triggers, staying vigilant—but it only got worse.

A few days ago, I took her to the vet, and my worst fears were confirmed: Taeya has mange, it can become a painful and relentless skin infection and we are trying to avoid that. Her treatment requires monthly shots for the next 4–6 months, medicated shampoos, sprays, and other topical medications. The cost is overwhelming, and the bills are already stacking up—far beyond what I can afford.

Recently I became unemployed and actively job hunting but have not had much luck. I’m doing everything in my power to turn things around, but I simply can’t do this part alone anymore.

I know many of you have pets and love them as they are part of your daily life and family, so you understand this pain. Taeya came into my life at just 6 weeks old when we rescued her sitting in a dirty box on the ground, and from day one, she’s been by my side. She’s helped me through serious health challenges—sensing when my blood pressure is dangerously high and physically intervening to keep me safe. Her presence is not just comfort; she has become critical to my physical well-being.

Now, it’s my turn to fight for her the way she’s always fought for me.
