The year 2024 has changed our lives completely. Our mom was diagnosed with stage 3, Breast Cancer. The doctors started an aggressive form of Chemotherapy treatment to give her a better chance at surviving this type of cancer.
Oncologist along with her Doctors proceeded with an aggressive form of chemotherapy to battle this triple negative breast cancer. This meant that as part of this treatment short to long term effects was to be experienced.
Jissie has endured the side effects of this treatment experiencing movement difficulties due to neuropathy, heat flashes, cognitive impairment due to “chemo brain” among other sickness due to her immune system being compromised and body changes.
Among the treatment she was also given the “Red Chemo”; known to affect the bone marrow directly and the heart, causing excruciating bone pain, all over her body besides all the sickness and emotional toll this took on her well being.
Jissie had to stop working as a Mental Health Counselor, due to not being able to perform at he best receiving weekly chemotherapy this caused financial burden and struggle due to all the deductibles, specialist visits, test, medication co payments and personal expenses including car payments. Jissie had also continued to congregate at Bethel because worship is a mayor weapon in her life which brings her great joy as well to be among her family but also to move to the appointments this car is crucial.
Jissie has been enduring this journey since July 31, 2024. On November 2024 Jissie went i to septic shock and was hospitalized for 12 days, Doctors reported she is a miracle and for the first 3 days as inpatient they expected the worst due to the condition in which she was admitted, once again the Lord helped Jissie to continue on this journey and race to safe her life.
Doctors are also trying to bring her into remission and told us they will be proceeding with surgery.
Following the mastectomy followed by radiation therapy, it will require more than one surgery to complete this process. With the upcoming surgeries, there are deductibles we have to cover. On top of the financial standstill her life and job have taken in order to prioritize her health. We are asking for any donations to help us reach the minimum quote and be ready for the upcoming process.
All throughout this process Jissie has Not been receiving disability compensation, and the reality of this economy is that within her household is not nearly enough to cover her basic expenses.
Jissie is a strong and amazing human being that is eager to go back to a “normal” life, but in the meantime any help that you can provide will be more than appreciated. Please help Jissie with whatever amount you can, since there’s no help or donation too small. Anything will be of great help to sustain Jissie in the time she still has left of this journey. Thanks and God bless!
