Support Jim’s long road to recovery

Donation protected
My name is Ann Marie and I am a friend of Jim Butkowski, his wife Julie and their 2 adult children, Olivia and Nathan. On September 14, 2021, Jim who is 57-years-old, underwent emergency open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve which was completely calcified through no fault of his own. We are counting our blessings that he is still here on this earth due to the severity of the blockage. However, this catastrophic medical condition has not only taken Jim out of work as a door and window installer and carpenter indefinitely, it has also put a huge financial strain on his family.

You see, Jim and his wife Julie are only able to afford a high deductible health insurance plan which will make them responsible for 20% of his entire medical bill, not including the $6,000 yearly deductible they also need to pay. I cannot even begin to fathom what 20% of open-heart surgery and a 10-day hospital stay will cost them, let alone the worry they are already experiencing trying to figure out how they are going to pay for all of his medical bills.

If you don’t know Jim, he is literally one of the sweetest and hardest working men I have ever met. While in the hospital awaiting surgery and even after his surgery, his main focus was not himself and his health, but all his customers whose jobs he won’t be able to finish since he is uncertain if he will ever be able to return to work. Post surgery, Jim’s doctors have said his heart is not functioning as well as they would like and only time will tell if his condition will improve or if irreversible damage has been done. We are praying this is not the case.

Any amount you donate will help Jim and his family pay for his substantial medical bills and for his lack of income for the foreseeable future. Know that any contribution you make will help ease this families burden and hopefully prevent a total financial loss for them. Jim and his wife are very humble and did not want to bring any attention to their financial situation but there is no way they can pay this on their own. Period. There is also no way to thank each and everyone who donates but understand this family you are helping is more deserving then you will ever know.
