Support Jim's Journey to a Lung Transplant
Donation protected
Jim is a native of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia graduating from high school in 1975. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation and was honorably discharged in 1978. He has always had a great love for the outdoors. He avidly hunted, fished, camped, and boated with his family and friends until this disease prevented him from enjoying these activities.
Five years ago, Jim was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. There is no specific reason why he became ill. In recent months, his condition worsened rapidly, forcing him into early retirement from the auto parts industry. Jim worked for Fisher Auto Parts (Federated Auto Parts), a job he enjoyed for over 40 years.
Jim says his faith in God, his 48 years of marriage to Barbara, and raising his children Jimmy (wife Terra) and Johanna Walker are his greatest accomplishments. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren Taylor and Cody.
In March 2024 Jim was accepted into Duke University’s lung transplant program. The program requires him to relocate to Durham, North Carolina to ensure he is ready, and he can be at the hospital at a moment’s notice for his lung transplant.
If you have the means and can find it in your heart to help us out during this difficult time (the program calls for 4-6 month minimum), any donation would be greatly appreciated. My goal is $25,000 to help with bills and other expenses and to help our family “Just Breathe”.
If monetary donation is beyond your reach, prayer and positive thoughts are always appreciated.
Thank you for reading and your consideration. We will update as developments occur.
In person monetary donations can be made with Sandy at City National Bank in Rainelle, WV.
Thank you for your generosity,
