Ride Across America — Sponsorship Proposal
From: Jimmy Barnes
Based in: Red Oak, Texas
Planned Departure: February 2026
Hello,
My name is Jimmy Barnes, and I’m preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime horseback journey across the United States — retracing the footsteps of 1850s settlers and cowboys. Dressed in authentic frontier attire and traveling on horseback, I will begin in Red Oak, Texas, ride west to Beverly Hills, California, and then head east all the way to New York City.
This journey will take approximately three months and will serve as a living tribute to the spirit of the Old West. Along the way, I’ll be:
Visiting schools, nursing homes, and Indian Nations to educate people about how early Americans traveled during the 1850s.
Stopping at cowboy churches and rural communities to connect, share stories, and celebrate our shared heritage.
Inviting people to ride along, turning this into a communal experience of living history.
Documenting the entire journey with photos, video, and stories to share with the public through online platforms and potential media partners.
How You Can Help
I’m currently seeking sponsorships, grants, or donations to help fund essential aspects of this journey, including:
Horse feed and veterinary care
Food and daily travel supplies
Basic safety and camping gear
Filming and documentation equipment
I’ve reached out to networks like Quest, History Channel, and Nickelodeon to explore opportunities for filming and broadcasting this unique experience. In addition, I’ve launched a public crowdfunding campaign here: GoFundMe
