Jimbei is a one-year-old domestic shorthair that was rescued by my friend when he was a kitten. He loves playing at home with his brother Zoro, and he does his best to be a good boy, but sometimes he likes to nibble on fingers. Just a little.
Early Friday morning, Jimbei began showing signs of being in pain, crying, vomiting, and frequenting his litter box without urinating. He was taken to the vet and he was diagnosed with a urethral blockage. A catheter was put in to help remove waste, and the blockage was cleared, but toxicity had spread to his blood, and he has spent the past two days hospitalized and on medication. The veterinarians believe he will pull through, but he still needs hospitalization and may have lasting damage to his kidneys. Currently, the bill is around $3,800, but the veterinarian’s office estimates that will go up. He will also likely need a specialized diet to keep him healthy, which can quickly become very expensive.
We are attempting to raise funds to help with the cost of Jimbei’s diagnosis, treatment, and continued care. An itemized list of charges so far is attached to the campaign along with a note from the vet. Jimbei is getting the care he needs, but the totals go above what his mom makes in a month. Any little bit is greatly appreciated and would help tremendously.
