Life can change in an instant. For the Stripling family, that moment came with the devastating news that Jim has been diagnosed with stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck, which has metastasized to his lungs and bones. The past weeks have been filled with countless doctor visits, urgent appointments, and difficult conversations — all while trying to hold onto hope and faith in the face of the unknown.

Jim has always been the rock of his family — a hardworking, self-employed man who has built not only his business but a life centered on steadfastness, strength, and spirit. His work has always been the primary source of income for their family. Now, with his health declining and treatment consuming his energy, the family faces tremendous financial hardship.

As many of you know, self-employment often comes with limited insurance coverage, and the out-of-pocket costs for treatments, medications, and travel to medical facilities are overwhelming. On top of that, Marliese has been unable to continue working as she is advocating for Jim and coordinating care.

Their daughter, Emily, is in her senior year of college, studying out of state and working hard to finish strong. She is facing her final semesters while carrying the emotional weight of her father’s diagnosis and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. The family’s greatest wish is for Emily to finish school without the crushing stress of finances holding her back. The Stripling family is humbly asking for your help.
