Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help and support for my father, James Spice, who is currently fighting for his life. He is in respiratory failure due to severe sepsis and is receiving intensive medical care to try to stabilize his condition and find the source of his critical infection.

Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection that can lead to organ failure and, in my father’s case, has severely compromised his ability to breathe on his own. He is now relying on advanced medical treatments and constant monitoring in the ICU while needing a ventilator to breath.

This has been devastating for my parents both emotionally and financially. Alongside overwhelming medical expenses, there will be mounting costs for his ongoing care, specialized treatments, medications, and the everyday bills that don’t stop when a loved one is sick.

My father has always been the one to help others — family, friends, neighbors — he never hesitated to lend a hand.
