Support Jim Lamirande's Fight Against Leukemia

Daywood Drive is a very special street located in Village Green in the town of Baldwinsville, NY. It was the home of over 25 children growing up during the 1960s through the late 1980s and we were all connected as one big family. I am sure this is like many neighborhoods around the United States during this time frame. However, ours had a unique feeling of never losing touch with each other over the 50+ years, and any activity that was challenging our families, we immediately were informed and bonded together through; Love, Support, Prayers, and our ability to lean on each other during those difficult times. We are now, once again, in that challenging time for a member of our family, Jim Lamirande, from our "Daywood Six" group (Brian & Mike McKenna, Jim & John Lamirande, James Miceli and Bob Spoto). We are asking for the help of our online community.

Our brother, Jim Lamirande, has begun his fight against Acute leukemia. It is a long difficult process, and we are going to go through this with Jim, every step of the way until he beats this terrible disease.

In the meantime, Jim can't work and will have trouble covering his living expenses. We are hoping to raise enough money for him to get through at least one year worth of expenses. Our street is committed and dedicated to raising $20,000.00 USD funds to help with his every day living expenses.

While we raise these funds to help our friend and family member, we ask everyone to respect the privacy of Jim Lamirande. Please leave your comments here (fundraiser page) and please avoid contacting him directly. He isn't comfortable having us raise these funds on his behalf, so we are trying to not let this affect his upcoming battle. Jim will need all the prayers, strength, and mental willpower to get through this. Thank you for your understanding.

In addition, during this holiday season, the Daywood Drive & Village Green Horns (yes, our band from the street) will be hosting a fundraiser concert, date-TBA, here in Baldwinsville to continue to help raise funds while entertaining the community — exactly what Jim would want us to do. As he always says, "It's time to get the band back together".

This fundraiser will allow him to get through this challenging time without worrying about his expenses. If you know Jim, you know he has the willpower and strength to fight this battle and win.
