Please help support Jim Holley’s Recovery and Home Renovations

Life changed in an instant for Jim Holley and his family.

In early December, Jim and his wife, Nelda, celebrated a milestone— when Lauren, their oldest daughter, got married. Jim told his friends how excited he was to finally have a son, in addition to his two daughters. But less than 5 days later on December 19th, just before Christmas, Jim suffered a carotid dissection and subsequent stroke requiring him to be life flighted to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

After two weeks of being in the intensive care unit at Piedmont, he was transferred on January 3rd to the Shepherd Center. Since then, Jim has been receiving intensive inpatient care where he is relearning basic skills most adults take for granted. Starting February 17th, Jim will begin an intensive outpatient rehab for at least three months at Pathways Center in Atlanta. While we are positive Jim will continue to make progress, his and Nelda’s life as they knew it will never be the same.

Jim will need significant accommodations. His home will require an ADA-accessible bedroom and bathroom. The financial burden on his family is immense, covering medical expenses, home modifications, the need for a a part time caregiver so Nelda can continue to work, and countless unexpected costs.

If you know Jim, you know he’s a strong believer in Christ and a guy who would give you the shirt off his back to help. He has always been the one helping friends, family, and neighbors—whether fixing something around the house, lending a hand on a project, or if you were really lucky getting some of his locally famous BBQ sauce. Now, he and his family need our help.

Please consider donating to support Jim’s recovery and help ease the financial strain on his family. Any amount is deeply appreciated, and if you’re unable to give, sharing this page would mean the world.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers for Jim and his family.
