Our lives were forever changed when Jim Heinemann, beloved husband and father, suffered catastrophic injuries in a freak accident on December 18. While working on his pickup truck, his clothing caught fire and despite actions nothing short of heroic on his part to extinguish the flames, he was left with deep third degree burns over 35% of his body. He is receiving treatment in the ICU at the Regional burn center at St. Marys. Our family has been told that his road to recovery will be very long with in patient care expected to last 6-9 months. Even with insurance, the medical bills will be overwhelming. We are asking for support from family and friends to help ease our financial burden so we can focus all our energy on getting Jim through this and bringing him home to the people that miss him more than words can say.
