I’ve made this GoFundMe on behalf of my son, Jim. Jim is married and has three wonderful kids, and he is soon undergoing brain surgery to help relieve the symptoms of Chiari malformation. This is a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal, putting pressure on the brain and spinal cord and disrupting normal cerebrospinal fluid flow. This is causing him frequent and severe headaches, ER visits, and worsening neurological issues.

On November 17, he will undergo a craniectomy/cranial decompression, C1 vertebrae laminectomy, and duraplasty, a major surgery designed to create more space for his brain and restore proper fluid movement. His surgeon expects a recovery period of 6-8 weeks, during which he will be on an unpaid leave from work.

This fundraiser will help his family manage out-of-pocket medical costs and lost wages while he focuses on healing. My son is an incredibly hard-working man, devoted husband, and active father who gives his all for his family.
